“All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.”
– Blaise Pascal

We live in a hustle culture that idolizes BUSY, when what we really need to do is normalize boredom.

The truth is, some of our most creative moments come during periods of boredom and doing nothing.

In the shower, on a walk, at a dinner by yourself.

You’re bored, your mind wanders, your thoughts mingle. Bam! Creative insight strikes.

Boredom and solitude are lost arts we all need to rediscover. You’ll do better work if you’re bored rather than busy.

Try the creative boredom challenge:

  • 5 days, 30 min per day
  • No technology
  • No books or reading
  • No social interaction
  • Dynamic (walking) or static

Carry a small notebook to log any interesting ideas or insights.

Let your mind wander. Boredom sparks creativity.
