Christian Nossum, broker of The Awesome Nossum Group in Seattle, was drowning in administrative work and left with very little time for prospecting. “I was losing my mind and reinventing the wheel for every transaction,” Christian said.
Rather than seeking out a seasoned real estate assistant to help run his business, he built out his entire process through workflows in a real estate CRM...and hired a 22-year-old with zero real estate experience to manage it all.

Here's how the story goes:
Christian and his wife built the workflows in one weekend. To eliminate distractions, they rented a room at a nice hotel on the water. The work began with reviewing each step of every process and making a point-by-point checklist. “We tried to have a big picture overview of where we were going and what we were trying to accomplish.”
Rather than starting from scratch, Christian had purchased workflows from another Realvolve user—someone who had a similar voice and writing style. This eliminated a lot of the manual work of building the workflows—they simply rewrote the content to tailor it for The Awesome Nossum Group.
At the end of a hard two and a half days of work, Christian had an entire system of prewritten workflows with descriptions for every step.
When he hired his assistant, Lillian, there was very little training to be done. Lillian was tasked with learning the Realvolve software so Christian could be entirely hands-off. Today, she is continuously tweaking workflows and templates, adding tasks, and following her own Client Care Manager Activity workflow that reminds her what to do on particular days. She refines and adds activities as soon as she notices a repeating task that isn’t already in a workflow. And she constantly makes notes within the workflows, so even if she takes a sick day, someone can easily step in and take over.
With Realvolve workflows in place and under the management of an assistant, Christian is now able to dedicate more time to real estate prospecting and building relationships.
